In the Cave of the Arma

The Sacristy and the Bell Tower of the ChapelChapel entranceThe chapel of the Annunziata, built in a grotto below the fortress, has been a destination for pilgrims and faithful since the beginning of this millennium. In the cave, at the dawn of the 17th century, the marble statues and the altar were placed.
After about a century the side altars were built.


In the area behind the presbytery, for several years now, archaeological campaigns have been taking place which have brought to light prehistoric remains: various types of lithic industry dating back 60,000 years ago, the Neanderthal man's era and numerous remains of tropical-type animal fauna.
