Doctor, Scientist and Radiologist
Born in Sanremo on 10 December 1904, he attended school there until he graduated from the Cassini High School.
After graduating in Medicine and specializing in Medical Radiology, obtained "with full marks and honors" at the University of Bologna, Prof. Giordano began a prestigious career that saw him hold important positions and win numerous competitions in the field of Radiology, until he reached the Primary School in the Hospital of L'Aquila in 1939 and then was appointed Chief of Staff at the Institute of Radiology and Physical Therapy of Hospice Hospitals in Lucca in 1952.
Author of 147 scientific publications on radiognostics, radiotherapy, radiobiology and electrophysiotherapy, he has always made a concrete and active contribution as a scholar, scientist and organiser of numerous medical congresses; he has collaborated in Prof. Palmieri's treatise on « Semeiotics and differential radiological diagnostics » with the chapter on « Radiological investigation in geriatrics and gerontology »; he has been a member of many Examining Commissions for hospital competitions.
Member of numerous medical societies and academies, he is Vice President of the Lucchese Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, and Honorary Member of the Italian Society of Medical Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, for his scientific, didactic and social merits.
For his scientific, didactic and social merits, the Municipal Administration has awarded him the title of Meritorious Citizen of our City.
