Lawyer and Benefactor
Bernardo Massabò was born in Sanremo on 7 October 1845 from Giacomo and Teresa D'Oria , descendant of the Marquises of Dolceacqua.
He dedicated his work to the moral and economic progress of Sanremo, in a special way in the administration of pious works.
He lived animated by feelings of philanthropy, of which he gave testimony leaving all his patrimony for the construction of a new hospital.
At a meeting held on 22 February 1911, the Town Council dedicated the stretch of road between Corso Matteotti and Via Corradi to him, naming it after him.
Previously the name of Massabò had been given to Via Gioco della Palla, then changed to today's Via Bezzecca.
On 20th April 1899 he died in Sanremo.
