Lawyer and Political Man
He was born in Sanremo on 21 December 1903 to Giobatta and Angiolina Ugo. After completing his studies at the Cassini High School he enrolled in Law in Turin where he had Luigi Einaudi as a teacher.
After graduating in law in Genoa, he immediately began the legal profession following the example of Orazio Raimondo, who was his teacher.
Among the founders of the Action Party, he took part in the liberation struggle, was an Official Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic, Commander of the Republic and Knight of the French Legion of Honour, and finally Consul of Belgium for the Province of Imperia.
From 1946 to 1957 he was President of the Autonomous Care and Tourism Company and was particularly appreciated in numerous missions to the most important European cities.
He also held the positions of Councillor for Tourism at the Chamber of Commerce, town councillor in Sanremo with responsibility for floriculture, president of the Association of Flower Exporters Traders.
During his term of office, preliminary agreements were reached for the construction of the Motorway of Flowers and the doubling of the pass at Ponte San Ludovico, and concrete projects were developed to move the railway upstream and to build the new flower market.
He was enrolled in the National Order of Writers and in the Register of Journalists, managing the "Corriere della Riviera" for several years; he was also President of the Rotary Club Sanremo from 1956 to 1958.
Struck by a serious eye disease, he took his own life on 16th April 1969.
